Our History

Constance Reynolds founder of SolRey Properties, Ukiah CaliforniaSolRey Properties is a family-owned partnership. The company was started in 1996 by Constance Reynolds. She was soon joined by her brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Kimberly Solis. SolRey Properties began by purchasing small properties which were then renovated and resold for profit or improved and kept as income-producing properties. It was Constance's entrepreneurial spirit that inspired her, Doug and Kim to retire from their professional positions to pursue real estate on a full time basis.

In 1998, SolRey Properties began purchasing C class and HUD multifamily apartment communities. This has become the Company's "niche," along with purchasing rehab and "flip" property to acquire infusions of money for new acquisitions.

Our most economical source of capital is our own portfolio. To acquire capital for new purchases, the company liquidates non-core assets and redeploys the proceeds via 1031 tax-deferred exchanges. Bank financing along with judicial use of lines of credit from SolRey Properties' high-equity properties and outside loans brought in from professional colleagues are used in the financing of apartments. Since 1996, SolRey Properties has found attractive acquisition targets at prices that make economic sense. During this period we have also maintained a low debt-to-equity position in our retained properties. Today SolRey Properties owns 100% of their portfolio's equity.

SolRey Properties is particularly interested in older and/or distressed properties, under-managed properties in need of repositioning, and properties performing poorly because of soft market conditions where those conditions are about to improve.

Solrey properties owns approximately 500 units located in Texas, California, and Oklahoma. All properties are managed by professional property managers, carefully chosen by the Partnership. Only top-quality management is hired and retained. Because of the complexities of HUD property management, all of our HUD properties are managed by a national firm that specializes in such properties.

SolRey Properties has been built by a team composed of experienced partners, working together, and drawing on the group's collective strengths to achieve a common set of objectives: To continually buy quality real estate at a discount to the market for income-production and appreciation for the next 15-20 years.
